Phasing back into work after a really relaxing four day weekend. And gearing up for next year, since I am always a few weeks or months ahead of things.

I had today off of work but I came in anyway due to a code release and I had nothing else to do. Thanksgiving was fun. I met my parents' new kittens and took their first pictures and got them to purr for the first time. They are really settling in and making it their home (as long as they remember their litter box training).

Chambanacon was fun for the most part. I wasn't sure exactly how everything worked though. I woke up both Sat and Sun at 5:30am and wasn't able to get back to sleep. The filk CD release party was hampered by thump-music from a wedding reception down the hall. The convention may be the start of a new Thanksgiving tradition. I'm still deciding.

Also my baked potato dip was a big hit at the T-day dinner and the convention. I may make it again for a special occasion.

But how are you doing? I heard something about you going to the hospital. Are you all right?

Yeah. Short form, I banged up my right leg last Friday, and it was still bugging me on Thanksgiving Day, so I took myself to the ER. Stayed there a couple of days, making friends with IV antibiotics. They seem to be working, so I'm home now with the oral variety.

Glad you had fun at 'Bana. It's an adorbz little con, but it is small enough that sometimes other functions can kinda run over it....

I drove home from Kansas City yesterday. I'm home until Christmas now. Mom is capable of living on her own after brain surgery.

Back to the editing and writing, and inventory counting.

Parser error: I first read that as "...after her own brain surgery" and was both impressed and scared for a minute there that she'd performed her own operation.
