Is the entire GOP going to need a refresher course on the friggin' First Amendment? Judging from the way they howl in rage when people tell the truth about them...

And never mind the homophobia - Duck-Dude's view of black-white relations in the Sowwth is a match for Paula Deen's, as the online article reported. Did you know none of the black folks DD worked with ever ever sang the blues or said bad stuff about whites in his presence? So they MUST have been happy. (Never mind that this was the era in which two grown white men tortured a black child to death over a WHISTLE, let alone saying something bad about whites.) He talks about "the blacks" being happy and singing and "godly" before all this equality MLK business started.

Hee hee. Seems several department stores are having a sudden flurry of returns of Duck Dynasty-themed goodies these days...

We're seeing the usual, politically correct, whining from the right: "The only reason stupid people say stupid things is because smart people tell them not to."

Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

That just applies to the rest of us, not themselves.

I had to deal with this a lot on the BBS I used to run. It's not Freedom of Speech at all. It's Freedom of the Press.

Still First Amendment though.

Y'see, A&E didn't say he couldn't say it. They just said he couldn't use their "press"(network) to do so.

To paraphrase what I used to tell idiots who got out of line on the BBS:

"I'm not saying you can't say that. I'm saying that you can't say it *here*. Feel free to start your own network to say it on."

YES. Exactly this. A&E is exercising THEIR First Amendment rights. Thank you, that's the perfect response to all this idiocy.
