So, for New Year's Eve Steve and I went downtown Heidelberg with another couple who are friends of ours, Todd and Yvonne. Heidelberg is this very old, gorgeous city. It's surrounded by hills and forest and there is a castle on a hill just at the edge of the old part of town. The city is rather intense for driving and otherwise getting around but

We had some crazy fireworks on this side of the ocean... but ours were all out in the boonys around a bonfire.
