what's the last thing you ate? brunch at shaw with aaron

what's your favorite cheese? yes.

what's your favorite fish? yes. specifically salmon, tuna, swordfish, sometimes mahi-mahi

what's your favorite fruit? depends on my mood, but the reliable answer is apples.

when, if ever, did you start liking olives? i can deal with little pieces on pizza or something of the sort. otherwise, blech.

when, if ever, did you start liking beer? i don't know, but i'm damn glad i did.

when, if ever, did you start liking shellfish? probably in the womb. and "like" is a rather tame word, don't you think?

what was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make? i'm obsessed with my mom's cookies. and my dad's teryaki-ginger glazed grilled salmon.

what's the native specialty of your hometown? i'm using hometown loosely, and saying my hometown is baltimore. therefore, crab cakes and steamed crabs.

what's your comfort food? whatever is there.

what's your favorite type of chocolate? anything without nuts of any sort in it.

how do you like your steak? on someone else's plate, thanks.

how do you like your burger? like a hockey puck, smothered in ketchup.

how do you like your eggs? scrambled, usually with cheese and bacon mixed in. or on a sandwich.

how do you like your potatoes? mashed with garlic.

how do you take your coffee? at doc's with just a hint of cream and sugar. or anywhere else with a bit more of both.

how do you take your tea? flavored. like rasberry or mint. or strawberry-kiwi.

what's your favorite mug? no preference. although all of the NSA mugs we have at home are entertaining.

what's your biscuit or cookie of choice? my mother's cookie bars straight out of the oven while they're still soft and mushy, preferably when she's not around to yell at me to wait.

what's your ideal sandwich? turkey on wheat with mayo, lettuce, provolone, and cucumber.

what's your ideal pizza (topping and base)? mushroom, broccoli, and garlic on a thick crust.

what's your ideal pie (sweet or savory)? boston creme. or apple.

what's your ideal salad? one with nothing red in it. except maybe bacon.

what food do you always like to have in the fridge? beer.

what food do you always like to have in the freezer? frozen shrimp, great addition to anything. or ice cream sandwiches.

what food do you always like to have in the cupboard? blue chips.

what spices can you not live without? garlic and salt. but not garlic salt.

what sauces can you not live without? spaghetti sauce with garlic

where do you buy most of your food? wegman's

how often do you go food shopping? when i'm having a craving for something i don't have.

what's the most you've spent on a single food item? about $16 for crab meat

what's the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own (excluding 'white goods')? electric skillet, which i must remember to retrieve from the apartment.

what's the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen? The electric skillet.

what piece of kitchen equipment could you not live without? gonna have to go with the refrigerator too

how many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients? it's been a while, unfortunately

what's the last thing you cooked from raw ingredients? hamburgers.

what meats have you eaten besides cow, pig and poultry? if fish counts, then yes. otherwise, if i have, i don't know about it and plan to keep it that way

what's the last time you ate something that had fallen on the floor? i strictly abide by the 5 second rule except in certain circumstances, so it couldn't have been that long ago.

what's the last time you ate something you'd picked in the wild? i don't trust anything not grown on a farm. so unless you count honeysuckle in middle school, nada

taco bell: chicken fiesta burrito and a regular hard taco

what is the best dining experience you've had in your home town? way too many to choose from. on this one i'm going to say hometown = D.C. and go with a crabcake and bay fries with strongbow cider at RFD. just cuz that's what's on my mind right now.

what's your choice of tipple at the end of a long day? currently a margarita now that i figured out that wegman's sells holland house sour mix. if not a margarita, a tequila sunrise, double JD on the rocks, alabama slammer, bottle of yuengling, glass of wine... i think i should've just answered "yes" to this one.

what's the next thing you'll eat? probably a handful of chocolate chips

i just spent way too much time doing that. but it's a gorgeous day, my window is open and the fresh air is making me really not care about all of the things i have to do. c'est la vie! i also need to stop being nostalgic. a conversation last night sparked a lot of old memories. *sigh* i just want to relax, to drive around with the windows down and good music playing.
