(Saw the FB status, too, but I don't use SuperWall, just the regular boring one.) I'm with Bolton--I think auburn would look great on you, but brown in summer is best when it talks back to the sun and lightens randomly. (Mine used to get auburn streaks in LA--otherwise kind of chestnut.) Dyed brown won't, I think, unless you do elaborate things with coloring.
Bolton is wise, and so are you. :) The last time I dyed my hair auburn I did it out of a box and it turned out great, but in this case I'm having someone do it professionally, so they can do elaborate things if need be. I might just defer to their years of hair wisdom...and then dye it by myself come fall if they keep me a blonde.
Dude, you'd look fabulous with auburn hair, so you should definitely do it. But reds fade fast unless you're already naturally red, so fall might be better, because it won't bleach out so quickly.
I'm heading to the salon tomorrow and still undecided, but I'm leaning towards waiting til fall. You'll be at Consoling Passions, right? You'll get to see the decision in person, lucky you. ;)
lol, yeah you might be a bit biased, but I think a good role model on this (I tend to overthink my way out of doing anything zany with my hair...perhaps because the few times I've really switched it up it's ended badly. One word: bangs. Yikes.)
Well, my experience last time that I went dark was that it took quite a while to get it back to blonde (and really, the Slytherin in me balks at the idea of showing up to Terminus as anything other than a blonde), but you make a good point about the lack-o-seasons...
Gah...still undecided, will reveal the decision tomorrow upon returning from the salon.

And you can be a blonde again by fall if you hate it. It's not like California has seasons anyway.
