It was still the coolest thing I'll get for my 30th birthday.

Dad took me to Game 7 last night. As those of you who care know, Stanley is taking a detour through Penguin Country on his way home. However, as I pointed out to those on my message list last night, we shall rise again. And the added extra to my "friends" who actually blamed me for the loss or decided to kick me while I was down....we do not ( Read more... )

I was really hoping for The Wings to win last night. I even ended up watching the game, which I think is the first time I've done so in my life. Even so, it is cool that you got to go.

Either way, I'm really glad you're positive about the game. :) I hope we bring the cup home next year.

We'll be a great team for years to come. It was a shame to not win, but one can't let it get to them. My dad seems to think he has this curse of making his teams lose in championship games, but I seemed to think I was some luck charm to help them win home games. I took my Wings jersey off last night because it was chokingly hot at my friend's apartment, but I put it back on after the game was over, because, hey, I still love my Red Wings.

And I do not think that lost us the game because my friend put the jersey on for me :) It's really hard to beat the same team twice in a row in the finals. And yeah, the Pens aren't the exact same team they were last year, and neither are we, but it's the same coaching and playing styles. There's always that next year!

The Penguins are currently a great team. So are we. That particular night, the Pens played like they wanted it more. We played like it was any old regular season home game, and it showed. It happens. Two turnovers cost us the cup. That's why I HATE Game 7s...no room for error.

And now I have a new team and player to loathe! (Talbot's pissed me off the entire series.) Gotta change things up every now and again. ;)
