Blair felt wonderful. It was definitely had something to do with the incredible lightness and fluffy feeling she was feeling, coupled with the booze on an empty stomach and the reefer brownies. God, who could say no to pot brownies? What wonderful combination of calories that was certain ( Read more... )

I stagger to a stop when I come to Blair asking me to lend her sugar and looking cheerful as anything. I've dashed in a vain attempt to momentarily escape Joe being so...well, so suddenly very much unlike him and it seems I've only managed to find yet another terrifying sight. "I'll pass on that," I note, voice fraught with concern. "Blair, prinzessin, are you okay?"

"Better than okay," Blair beamed, letting out a whistle that only managed to get halfway before she dissolved into giggles. Still moving slightly, she slowed her movements down to a gentle wiggle. "I'm freaking golden, Kenny. Why?"

"Oh dear god," the three slow words are wrenched from my mouth and I stare at her in absolute horror. "I don't even know if this is worse than Joe acting like he belongs on the cover of Homosexual Monthly, but I'm afraid I'm going to find out. Kenny? Please, no, Blair. Never. Ever."

"Webbie? Kenyon is so formal. You can call me Blair Bear or something, B. I don't care." She shrugged her shoulders, utterly relaxed. The idea of her friend being upset with her was not something she was fond of, but it could have been worse. He could have been crying or something. "You know what you need. You need a drink. Yep, yes you do."

Oh okay. A smiling, giggling Blair was a pleasant surprise, but still a surprise. Especially surprising after having a run in with Serena earlier, or whoever Serena was pretending to be.

"Uh.." Nate answered unintelligibly, confused but with a smile peeking out from around the corner of his mouth. "Dancing in the streets, Blair?" He took her hand, because he couldn't just leave her hanging. "Did a box full of Versace headbands appear on your doorstep?"

Laughing again, Blair shook her head as she continued her made-up dance by spinning around in a circle. "God no. What would I do with a headband? They're so binding and they give you headaches," she said, tone malice free and completely upbeat. This talk of hair gave her the idea that maybe it was time to cut her own. Chop it all off or something fun and frisky. "I'm just having a fun. It's beautiful today, isn't it?"

That threw him for a loop, and Nate stood there for a second just watching her move. "...Blair are you high?"

Blair's eyes widened as she covered her mouth with her free-hand in an overthetop gesture of guilt. Wrinkling her nose, she nodded, her smile still stuck on her face.

"Just a little. And a little drunk. Is it obvious? It's totally obvious. Please don't get mad, Serena got so upset; it was so not cool."

There was really only one word for it-- as Blair crashed into him and bounced back with no more than a coquettish giggle, Fred gaped. He recovered as soon as he realized his mouth was actually hanging open, and gave her a bemused, quizzical look. "With that kind of hello, I wish I was," he said, sticking his hands in his pockets and grinning down at her. "Bit of an extra spring in your step today, huh?"

"A bit of extra sauce as well," she added, giving him a wink as she stepped forward, running her hands down his arms until she grabbed his hands. "Don't worry, I'll lend you any sort of spice you ask for. A bushel, a peck, roses or thyme. What have you."

Normally if he'd come upon her in this good a mood he wouldn't have done much thinking about it. But things seemed to have gone a little loopy all over the island this morning, and one thing Fred wasn't going to do was take something at face value that he might catch hell for later. "Are you... feeling alright?" he asked, curious. "Not that you seem un-alright; you seem fine. You look fine, better than fine, I mean," he said, coloring slightly; he hadn't meant it to come out so fervently. "Were you on your way somewhere?" he asked instead, hoping to divert the talk elsewhere.

"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" It really didn't make any sense, because sure she felt better than she had yesterday with all of that anxiety and worry having taken a very sudden departure, but she couldn't see the problem in that. Did people enjoy being scolded? Blair didn't think so.

Laughing merrily, she shook her head. "No where in particular. I was thinking of maybe skinny dipping. Wanna come?"
