At work I have a lot of time to think. When I work my mind floats endlessly through useless and random things like songs, dreams, people, etc. Since I am either chipping branches or mowing lawns I wear earplugs that enhance the fact that I am living in my mind...in a sense. So, over the course of this summer I have used my mind for evil. I have ( Read more... )

C'mon, Harry Potter would've liked it. Speaking of Harry, the spoiler with castaway better now be true because I haven't read the 6th book yet!!

P.S. Even if it is just tell me it's not. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow anyways.

... One time while working on a Habitat for Humanity house, I also thought of a joke. I had watched the Mitch Hedberg DVD the night before, so it was in his style. It went something like this.

(In Mitch Hedberg Voice)"I've noticed that when you are working on a ladder, people seem to listen to you when you ask for shit. Like, 'hey, grab me that tape measure' or 'can you get me a bottle of water'. People hop to it, like being on a ladder makes you more important. I want to employ that technique all the time. I want to carry around a step ladder, and whenever I want shit, I'll just get up on it and ask someone to grab it. People better listen, because I am on a ladder and am in more danger than you since I could fall, so it's best you get me that rather than making me go through the inconvenience of getting down."

I understand your plight of a wondering mind in mindless work. It's nice to hear from you again.

That was actually really funny. It someone told me that it was one of his jokes I'd laugh and believe them. Hey, that gives me an idea. My mom really likes Mitch Hedburg so I'm going to tell her this joke, say that it's his, and she what she thinks. I'll let you know.
