You guys want to see something cool? (I think it's cool anyway....) Here's the house I grew up in. The room in picture #7 was mine. The house is for sale (it's still owned by the people who bought it from us). I am soooooo tempted to buy it. I'm going to look at the house tomorrow with my mom and sisters. None of us have been in the house since my ( Read more... )

I had a hard time when they sold it. My parents literally rebuilt that house from next to ruin. They put so much work and time and love into that house. Then my dad's business started to have problems and financially we were struggling, so they had to sell it. I was almost out of high school and was going to be going off to college soon anyway, but I was very unhappy losing my home.

That's so picturesque! I love the porch and the view from the backyard. How special.

Isn't it, though? The inside looks so different from when we lived there. But I can see it so clearly. BTW, my sister made an offer on the house. So it may end up back in the family after all.

Michelle,

It's absolutely gorgeous and definitely looks like a HOME..other than sentimentality though...will it work for your family? I don't know if you can add another bathroom, although your boys can share. I'm just anal retentive and I like guests to have their own bathroom so I don't have to share, but the boys would have to share with visitors in that house. It looks like a happy home though and that maybe worth a little inconvenience :) :)

My sister made a offer on the house today, so she beat me to it. Dang it. Oh well, as long as it's in the family, I'm happy.

As for guests, I rarely have people stay at my house. We have a house in Galveston that most of our out-of-town friends and family stay at when they visit.

Hee...I'd love having a separate house for guests!! :D As for your sister making the offer..that does sucks, but yeah, you and the family can visit now! :) :)

I told her if she bought the house, I was going to spend the night one night in my old room.

That's a nice house. Looking at real estate listings is a hobby of mine, I've recently become obsessed with houses. That's a really good price for a house like that, is that what the market is typically like in Texas?

Compared to a lot of other areas of the country, real estate in Texas is pretty inexpensive.
