That's what I feared when I say the workers scrambling with film canisters on the news shot. There was too much running and dumping them out in a pile exposed area. My first through was wtf why are they dumping them where they will get water and smoke damage? Which quickly shifted to the they are getting them away from somewhere worst... In looked more like a desperate last attempt on a sinking ship than a salvage/reclaiming operation.

There are some great underground film vaults but not every studio and every production is viewed as worthy of the costs. Which is a shame, however the amount of new material made every day is beyond practical storage.

Anyway if you hear anymore keep us updated. I depend on my friends' page you get important news stories.

More info:

the films that burned were the copies sent out for screenings, thus, many screenings must be canceled as they will NOT and should NOT send originals to every horror movie fest in the Valley. The ARCHIVE copies are fine.

The Lon Cheney Phantom of the Opera stage is fine, I saw it yesterday.

The Psycho House and Munsters House are on the other side of the lot, Munsters is now a Desperate Housewives set.

You should send this info, or have your friend contact the web site http://www.thehorrordrunx.com/ Hopefully they can get this info out to everyone that has seen the site. This is very good news indeed.

You know, you'd think that at some point someone would've gotten the bright idea to digitally back-up those prints. Just incase of shenanigans like this.
