Owl to Charlie

Charlie,

Has Mum No, you did not misunderstand my letter and yet I believe you did. Miss Brown will be examined but you must be assured that the Ministry has guaranteed to take every precaution in keeping her comfortable. I do not treat students like lab rats, Charlie, and this is not a fun experiment the Ministry has randomly decided to partake in. If left unchecked, her powers could get out of control. As it is, Miss Brown has already informed me of the terrible migraines that accompany her visions. The potions Madam Pomfrey has provided for her are fine for the time being, but what of when she departs Hogwarts? She cannot hope to maintain a normal life without knowing what she can do and then do about it. I have no doubt that you and the others have done your best but she needs people who truly understand Divination to help her with it. Pardon my saying so, but Professor Trelawney is a bit of a joke in the Ministry. The only thing she can lecture anyone about is the effect of too many bottles of sherry after dinner.

Forgive me, Charlie. I am tired, and these are the same objections that Professor McGonagall brought up when I spoke with her. I have not yet succeeded in convincing her, but I can only hope that you will see from my point of view.

Sincerely,
Percy
