What is faith?

It has been a number of years since I started really looking into what it is I believe and stand for. I wish I could say that I have made some headway as far as being able to define the essence of that which is my faith/spiritual belief/religion. I don't really know what to say. I'm not much help, as I was fed an exclusive (if inconsistent) diet of various forms of Christianity at home and in school, so that's really all I know. I'll be the first to admit that my horizons are not very broad here. I would never ever begrudge or put down a set of spiritual beliefs that works for any one person, but all *I* know is Christianity. When I've professed a faith, it's been Christianity. When I've been away from Christianity, I've mostly still defined my spiritual beliefs as "not-something" (usually Catholic) instead of acknowledging a set of beliefs I DO hold ( ... )

If you are interested in Christianity and Biblical scripture, I have a great book to suggest: Lies From the Pulpit, by Connie Wiedeman. She addresses the misguided and incorrect beliefs that all Christian churches believe in, where the belief originated and why it is wrong, according to Scripture ( ... )
