Awww, that's truly wonderful Crystal. It's really great to heart that from the late great Kurt Vonnegut in light of the stuff I've been dealing with in getting my creative writing BA, as you know.
I was sooo sad to hear that he died. Just last year he did an interview on The Daily Show with John Stewart and he seemed healthy and in good spirits. He was such an amazing writer and a cool person.
I actually thought of you too after I heard that quote because it was after I responded to what you're going through with your creative writing BA. It's a quote a truly agree with 100%. I've been writing since I was six years old. Nobody taught me how; I just sat down one day and wanted to write this story idea that I had gotten from a dream. And from that moment on I knew I was going to be a writer. I'm looking forward to graduating and summer so I can spend a hell of a lot more time writing than I am now.
He was on Bill Maher not too long ago either so I'm sure Bill Maher will have some sort of tribute or mention of him tomorrow night.

You've pretty much described my past and current situation exactly. :) Here's to us doing a lot of writing this summer, and having FUN with it, dammit!
I am sorry to hear he passed away. My newspaper did a whole segment to him and had some very nice quotes in it (however your quote beats them all). Oh Kurt you will be missed.

Remember she played Jane in the 90s version of JE? Turns out her dad's a super-famous singer in France and she's decided to release an album as well. She collaborates with Air (the band who did the Virgin Suicides soundtrack) and some of the songs sound promising, if not really my style.
hi, crystal, it's alex from nj...my journal is friends-only right now but i just added you. cheers, and sorry for past troubles, hopefully we can talk things through.
