I deal with loss by doing whatever I can to forget the actual date. Until Dave died this was possible, but when dealing with all the legal stuff for him the date of his death was wanted over and over again.
I can't imagine how it must be for you. Each year, constant reminders in the media and a date which has gained a world-wide meaning. The awful part never allowed to fade as things should with time.

This. I am glad someone gets it. I sometimes wish if he had to die, that it would have been a quiet one, a personal one, so we could get down to the business of healing. This yearly ripping open of the wounds is a hard, hard thing.
