doyle! man. yes. i'm glad that i'm not the only person thinking this. i've had claire go to the hospital, they said anemia, that girl peggy (her roomie) mentioned anemia too. but while i'd normally say "trust whatever doctor on this" the anemia answer seems totally bullshit. you don't cough blood from anemia. that's so *basic*. so i'd love to talk to bell. instead of just spending forever in my pathology textbook and/or wikipedia. who do you know who's been sick? i just count claire, peggy, and (yeah) jane. and something about an ann she said in a comment, i think? that puts stuff in the nu sig house and in astor.

anyway, i'm ok, hope baltimore's cool, i guess you should e-mail john about this too??... actually, don't. long story. but don't. it might mean i need to talk to him. ... again, long story.

I'm thinking anemia's a symptom and not a cause. Coughing up blood, anemia, possibly insomnia since Ann mentioned being wide awake at night. Could be something chemical? But then they'd have to have a common tie and like you said, they're in separate buildings and Ann hasn't even heard of or met Peggy or Claire.

Last I heard about John he was off his rocker or something so I'm not gonna bother him with this.

Been thinking of cutting my trip short and coming back, see if I can help out in any way.

up to you! and... yeah. just don't bother with john.

anyway, what i've guessed so far is sudden bronchitis or pneumonia, except most of the other symptoms aren't even there. other more serious things should have had warning signs too. if it was isolated i'd worry about... well, cancer, honestly. but no way in hell do three to five people suddenly all have cancer. it sounds like it's something respiratory for sure, though- at least in claire's case she confirmed for me the blood was bright, not dark.

That's something at least. Did she say she's got a fever? Also listlessness that's another symptom. At least Ann mentioned feeling fatigued all today except at night with the insomnia.

Is John okay?
