Ryan is a smart guy, right? He's been in medical school, he's always gotten good grades, top of the class, valedictorian and all of that. So why can't he figure out something as simple as blueprints

Ryan sighed heavily, thunking his forehead against the table a few times. "I'd end up building the house inside-out or something. Or I'd build a barn. Do you want to live in a bar?"
He paused, looking up at Carly and then making grabbyhands for her muffin.
He flailed about a bit, trying to somehow reach the muffin without moving from his seat, then said - loudly, for the benefit of the customers - "Carly, I want your muffin. Please."
Then, rolling his eyes, "The treehouse didn't really have walls. Or much of a roof. And it creaked ominously whenever we...um. Pursued more...athletic and...strenuous...activities."

Carly took a huge bite out of her muffin and then elevated it out of Ryan's reach. Luckily, the customers were used to that kind of thing.
"We've built a treehouse before. How hard can it be?"
