Drama (should have happened like a month ago) - Riley or open

Angie sat on her bed. It was mid afternoon and she was finished class for the day. Early Wednesday, oh how she loved them.

A slight chirp followed by a mild crash she saw Cole struggling to get through the closed window.
"Sometimes I wonder..." She said flicking her wand and opening the panes so her feathery friend could come barrelling in. He was ( Read more... )

Why was that never good?
We need to talk

Out of all the years he'd been alive, Riley'd known one thing about girls that was for certain; the words 'we,' 'need,' 'to,' and 'talk' out of their mouths in that order was never a good situation.

Never.

Riley frowned, silently scooping off his jacket as he turned for the door.

"Where you off to, now?" Miles asked dryly from where he lay on his bed.

Glancing back, Riley shrugged up his shoulder and said a very explanatory, "Angelina," before slipping out of the room.

It seemed like every girl in school had a bone to pick with him this week. Pansy Parkensin was still bugging him about her ruined sweater, Cecilia had thoroughly roasted him, Professor Sprout kept asking him to answer questions in class.

So what was one more round?

Sighing, Riley rounded the corner into the Qudditch locker room; a place he rarely found himself, but considering the girl he was meeting there..

... er, well.. That could've been a good thing or a bad thing.

"Angelina?"

Angie was around the corner in one of the bathroom sinks staring at her reflection. She looked young, she thought. Too young. Like she was still a kid. Hair tied up, sweatshirt, jeans, like Angie would always be 'Angie'.

Angelina. She heard her name and was sucked from the thought quickly. She felt reassured, hearing Riley's voice even though it sounded tentative and half scared-ish.

"Hey." Her voice echoed before her body appeared around a corner. Mocking a stern look she walked up to him with purpose before bursting into a comforted smile and wrapping her arms around Riley's neck.

"You looked scared." Angie mused, feeling better just hugging him. "Is meeting me that terrifying?"

Riley returned the grin half-heartedly over her shoulder, bringing both arms loosely around her waist. His shoulders shrugged up as he pulled back, and he found it difficult just to keep the smile in his tired state.

"Not scared," Riley corrected her, leaning down for a quick, routine kiss of greeting, "Just frustrated.. tired."

Almost on que, he yawned. It was amazing how stress could run someone down.

"Ah." And her spirits were dwindling.

"Well I won't keep you." Angie offered in a kind caring manner, tactfully hiding disappointment. "I just wanted to let you know that I'll be going into Hogsmeade this friday."

Pausing she turned her eyes downwards, her fingers finding his as she looked at his hands.
"To meet and talk with my father."
