He threw the door open. "Oh thank Merlin!" He nearly fell out the door rushing to give her a hug. "George!" Fred hollered back into the flat, hangover nearly forgotten, "she's just shown up!" The relief was written all over his face.
He let go of Angie and took her bags, letting her come in. That's when he finally got a good look at her. She looked guilty, sad, lonesome. Fred said seriously, "Ange.... There's nothing you could've done if you'd been there instead of here..."

"You know me so well." Fred looked worried and she quickly felt the need to persuade him otherwise. "I'm fine, really. Before you even ask.'"
She sat down on the small couch and sighed. "I got held up answering a bunch of questions."

Fred settled himself on the armchair beside the sofa. "What all did they ask you?" he wanted to know, and then in the next breath, "have you eaten?" His stomach made a loud growl as he thought of getting something nice for dinner.

Leaning over into her suit case she unzipped a small compartment and tossed Fred a packet of airline peanuts. "Until we eat something a little more substantial."
Relaxing back onto the couch she rubbed her forehead remembering the slew of questions.
"It was a lot about where I had been, how I knew Parvati, what I saw at the reunion. Standard stuff." With a whole lot of attitude, she thought. But it would only make Fred angry.
"It was a waste of time. I felt so useless." Angie remember the night and the guilt came swarming back. "I never even said hello to her at the hall."
