a friend once told me a story about her gran. all of her family pretty much thought she was deaf and used to be pretty careless about what the said or just asume that she didnt hear them when they spoke to her and got no answer. my friend was sat with her one day and the gran turned round and wispered "i'm not as deaf as they think i am you know"
