Actually, I'm mostly curious how our characters ICly would end up posting here. If it's meant to not have more than their game knowledge, or else their canon knowledge should a character be looking for a game rather than looking for castmates, what would their posts look like?

"Maa, I sure do wish I could be somewhere other than this big, blank space/this waiting room/filling out this stupid questionnaire."

How would that work? How/who are they addressing when they post here? Dear Mun runs off characters addressing their players; and since this asks for no fourth walling, I'm just curious if this has a particular formula, or if it's a character's cry into the void:

"By Jove, Jonathon, where are you already? I'm sick of dealing with the ghosts on my own!"

So to speak.

Really, about anything would work. They could say something about being lonely or missing a good buddy, or being glad that annoying bad guy is missing from where they are now.

In a way, it could run somewhat like a dressing room, but more with the intent of having people who have homes post rather than the dressing room be their home.

I can add this for a point in the under construction FAQ.

I'm going to have to have to agree with the anons on rp!s and others here re: the lack of fourth walling. Part of the charm of dear_mun was the ability to break the fourth wall (while part of its negatives was that it wasn't supposed to be used for the purpose this community is for).

For example, I often play my characters AU where they often do not know of the existence of another character from canon within that AU (what I mean is that to make things simply I often am vague on the existence of other canon characters in my app until one of them applies). What I've often done in dear_mun is have my characters break the fourth wall of that game and start saying things like "you don't even exist here! Can you believe it?" to other potential canonmates. It really opens a whole new mode of interaction that, while not necessarily indicative of how the casts would act exactly in game, does fuel interest.

I would suggest you guys rethink this policy. That's just my two cents worth.

Well, I also had people on the anon meme say they didn't want 4th walling like dear_mun. That's where the idea came from in the first place, the meme.

What I can agree to is a compromise. I'm not going to encourage it, but I also won't disallow it completely. Unless I receive an actual complaint, chances are I'll just let it keep on going, and for now, I'm it for mods.

Really, I mostly want a forum where people can feel free to RP to their heart's content and seek out a cast as their characters. While people use dear_mun for that purpose, it's evident the mod does not want us to do that. So the answer we came up with on the anon meme was to make a new community that does allow that.

So to sum up basically, if everyone's having fun, and RPing, I'm probably not going to complain one bit about what anyone does here.

Does that perhaps sound like a fair compromise? I'll clarify further saying instead that it's not disallowed, but not encouraged if that works.
