I posted about a trip to Europe and what I thought of Belgium, which wasn't much.

I never really thought any more about it, which is weird for me, especially given how much research I've done into several of Belgiums neighbours, anyway... This article explains some of what I hate so much about Belgium.

Regarding your earlier post - I didn't realise you've been *teaching* German Longsword. We had a Romanian guy wander in on Tuesday who had learned a smattering of the Sacred Art in New Zealand. Odd.

In the long term I don't think artificial political entities like Belgium can survive. Or the EU either. Without some common cultural tradition there's nothing to hold them together when things get tough.

As for the EU, any international organisation such as that will be bureaucratic, inefficient, unrepresentative, unaccountable and corrupt. Just like the UN.
