Sometimes Thalia was certain that she couldn't contain her mess. It was one thing to be a disaster all over her trailer. That was a place that people rarely saw. Her mess could spread out, take over everything and make mini messes. Her head often felt like a mess, like there were too many things going on, so much to be that she couldn't quite get ( Read more... )

"Well, fancy that," Lucy said, not bothering to hide a grin as Thalia approached, head turned in the other girl's direction. She hadn't gone seeking out company, but she was never going to turn it away, either. Between those who'd come and gone and how busy she often found herself these days, it was always a welcome thing to just relax with a good friend - though, if Thalia had been planning to seek her out, that was probably for a reason, too. "What's up?"

Thalia's instinct was to say that it was nothing despite the fact that she was the one who had come looking for Lucy. She managed to stop herself before it when that far rolling her eyes at what she had been about to do.

"If you're in a hurry I won't keep you. I know you have kid-watching duties and all of that. How is Sam by the way?" It was a diversionary tactic and a bad one at that. She might as well just swallow her pride and get it over with. "I do have one thing to ask your opinion on. But it can wait."

"Sam's good," Lucy said, nodding. Things had been, with the exception of the attack of the killer toys, relatively calm lately, and while around here, at least where her life was concerned, that typically meant something terrible was going to happen soon, she was trying to enjoy this peacefulness while she could. At least Thalia seemed to be alright; whatever it was that she was obviously trying to avoid now, it hadn't interfered enough to affect her well-being now. "And I'm not in a hurry, it's fine. Seriously, what's going on?"

"Good, good." Thalia liked the little girl and knew that Mathias and Lucy were good pseudo-parents to her. It couldn't be easy, to keep losing people like that at such a young age and Thalia wished she couldn't relate.

There were moments when Thalia somewhat resented Lucy's ability to cut through her avoidance, no matter how grateful she was for them. It was the sort of skill that she had admired in Annabeth. At least someone knew how to shoot straight when it came to these sorts of things. "The usual teen-young-adult kind of slutty, but normal for my family weirdness." Pausing she pushed her hair back off her face. "I met a guy."
