Is it the cool thing to do today, to post a review of the new Doctor Who episode? I hope so!
I really enjoyed it. Moffat's Who episodes have a way of really getting under my skin in the opening act and it's hard to shake that. He's brilliant at invisible horrors. Once the alien shows up it's almost always a disappointment to me, because things I can't actually see but know are there are much scarier... Why yes, Blink does scare the daylights out of me!
I thought Amy was really nicely developed, and I think her fixation on the Doctor is hilarious and also just a bit messed up. But I like it. I look forward to their madcap adventures, as she has spunk and this Doctor is just a smidge bit more full of himself than the last one. Which I like, I'll admit it. I love David Tennant but I think I'll love this one too.
Plus, go redheads! Represent.
Blah blah blah, I liked it, the end. Oh, and to be fair I am an enormous chicken about scary things! Evidence: Was recently at Disneyland with two best friends and (stupidly) volunteered to sit by myself on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, as three adults cannot squash into one car. THIS WAS A MISTAKE and I actually had to cover my eyes through the last half of the ride. And Hell seemed hotter than usual but that might have just been my imagination. That ride had never genuinely scared me before but oh my god. :(
I was teased very mercilessly for it, trust me.
