This is a particularly fascinating set of articles -- probably not something you can read quickly, as it is a series, but it's worth the time, I think.

Unfortunately, it's an elephant. You can ask all the blind men you want without ever really understanding it's pachydermitude. You can get a lot more information about its pieces, but that's all.

I like to think that here in DC we're feeling its head, and that's the most important bit. But of course, I think that because I live in DC.
