have you ever been told that someone can't love you if you don't believe the same thing they do?

this is a first for me.

I thought that god was unconditional. Unconditional love.

How come someone can put a condition on love?
esp. if they are "living" for god.

there's a difference between not loving someone and not allowing yourself to be in a relationship

love is tricky...
"what they call love is a risk, cause you'll always get a hit out of nowhere by some wave, and end up on your own..."

It's a very difficult predicament there. There's a lot of pressure on religious people to marry individuals from their same faith. It can be hard.

I'm on (what I presume, though I can't really know for sure based on your post alone) the flip side of that situation. I'm Christian. Andrew's aetheist. Some would tell me not to be involved with a man who doesn't share my beliefs, but I say that's ridiculous. What? God doesn't love him because he's aetheist? That would have to mean that I have more love and compassion for Andrew than God does...which is in direct conflict with the whole philosphy revolving around God's unconditional love.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, tell those people to shut up.

i just wish that i could have someone explain that to him, he thinks that if he were to marry outside of his religion, or with someone who doesn't have the same view then it would be hypocrisy.
