Well you know, I'm not fond of mormons but their incessant need to baptize people posthumously is the greatest genealogical event ever. we have millins and millions of records saved and copied because of them.

I figure if they're going to be allowed to use church funds to affect politics, they should lose their tax exempt status.

Seems like a loophole. Churches have been stripped of tax-exempt status before for endorsing political candidates from the pulpit, but I don't think there's anything on the books that prevents them from using their funds to influence elections.

Even though the latter seems worse to me (since the money being used was tax-exempt to begin with).
