So...I watched The Libertine the other night. Anything Johnny Depp generally interests me, and not for the same reason millions of other girls flock to him, but because he chooses interesting pieces, and I find the characters he plays intriguing. The guy deseserves a long-overdue Oscar. He's been in so many different roles, and was so good in every one of them. He's not just a character actor, or even a genre actor...he's just a damn GOOD actor.
Shame on Hollywood for passing him up for so many years!

I've been saying this forever, and people give me responses like, "He has to pay his dues", or "He's too weird for Hollywood" (oh the irony of that), and both are statements which just piss me off. So, yes, he is looooong overdue. He should have won for Finding Neverland at least. Anyway, I could go on, but it's nice to hear some agreement on the subject. A resounding A-M-E-N!
