Killarney and Kinsale

So my mom really wants me to finish the travel blog, and I've got most of the pics edited, which is half the process. However, I still have about...6 cities, not counting these 2, to cover, lol.

However, I'm definitely working on it, so I figured I might as well post it here while I also post it to my blogspot :)

From our lovely stay in Dingle, we took a bus ride to the nearby city of Killarney. We hadn't been planning on going there, but it was easier to find a cheap place to stay in Killarney then in Kenmare, which we had originally wanted to go to. Based on the recommendation of my friend Emily's travel blog, we rented bikes to ride to a lake on the edge of a national park near where the Ring of Kerry is located. We ended up biking to Muckross Lake...it was probably one of the most beautiful bike rides of my life. Since this was our main activity in Killarney, this will be primarily a photo post! I apologize in advance for how overedited a lot of these are, the editing program I had on the trip only let me do things in extremes -__- I'm used to photoshop letting me fine tune things.

Muckross House (so many tourists >_<)

We had our lunch (fresh homemade goat cheese and jam on wholewheat crackers and an apple) on the banks of Muckross Lake at Dundag Bay. I had fun getting my feet wet, and the view was lovely.

Later we stopped by Muckross Abbey, which is in gorgeous ruins and has a cemetery with both ancient and new graves:

It had very creepy/awesome vibes, and was also devoid of tourists for a nice change. I was climbing around by myself, and let me just say...if anywhere we've been on this trip is haunted, that place is. It has a personality to say the least (and a bloody history).

I took this through the keyhole into a locked room....very much hoping that I wouldn't find anything in there :P

After our bike ride, we made dinner and friends at our hostel, then saw yet more live Irish music.

And that was it for Killarney!

The next day we caught the train to Kinsale, a little vacation town where we'd found a really nice B&B for the night. Due to the train and bus schedules, we ended up not getting into Kinsale until after 3, and then it started pouring rain, seriously hindering our wandering around time. Our host was really sweet, she had tea time with us when we got there (so many homemade scones, oh my goodness). The harbor was lovely, like Dingle's, but we didn't see much of the town.

Really colorful, clean, pretty town.

We had an extremely nice three-course dinner (we split the three courses--we split every meal on this trip, we have the same tastes and both don't eat much so it works out well!), which was DELICIOUS!!!! Seriously, it was sooooo good. Everything was so fresh. We joked that it was our fancy date night.

Roast chicken with mushrooms and some kind of magical veggies with potatoes...I don't even know, it was just really good!

And those were our brief stays in Killarney and Kinsale :)

...I should totes be packing right now!
