Canon Character and Series: Miles “Tails” Prower, Sonic the Hedgehog
In-Game Name: Miles “Tails” Prower
Age: 8
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: Mechanic on The Winding Way
Appearance: He’s small bipedal fox with two bushy tails. Most of his body is covered in orange brown fur, except for his muzzle, the front of his torso and the ends of his tails. His eyes are blue, his ears are short and pointed and he has a small round black nose. He wears a pair of simple white gloves and sneakers which are red at the heel and white at the toe with rolled up white socks. For this rp, I’m changing that up. Now he wears a pair of WWI aviator goggles on his head and a red bandana around his neck. Instead of the white gloves and red and white sneakers he has worn brown boots and brown leather work gloves. Around his waist is a leather utility belt where he keeps his tools. Finally, he has a silver locket on a chain around his neck that he usually keeps under his bandana that holds a picture of himself as a baby with his parents.
Personality: He’s a very bright and curious boy with a great love of machinery. Though a bit shy, he can friendly once he gets to know a person and he’s a tough little thing when push comes to shove. He had to be to survive alone in Vohemar for as long as he did. Despite this he doesn’t actually have much confidence in himself, but he tries his hardest to help where he can. He is extremely intelligent and has a vast amount of mechanical potential, but he has yet to realize how much. He just loves to tinker and build things.
Despite all the hardship he’s had to deal with he’s still a very kind hearted and sweet natured person. He’s very loyal to his friends and will do whatever he can to help and support them when they need it. In fact, it’s that hardship that’s made him value what friends he has even more. He managed to keep on living even after finding himself alone in the world due to a great amount of determination, which helps him in everything else he does as well.
Abilities/Weapons: As already stated, he’s a talented mechanic who knows machines inside out, but he’s also got an unusual ability to use the extra tail that he was born with to fly like a helicopter, and can carry at least one person when he does this. He’s also proficient with a knife and carries one concealed in his tool belt incase he needs to defend himself.
How well can your character hack?: Medium to Hard- Tails is a mechanical genius and was very interested in the difference machines when he first discovered them. He can hack almost anything but the most securly locked entries. He doesn't usually bother though since he respects others' privacy.
Weaknesses: He is badly Astraphobic, which means he’s deathly afraid of thunder and lightning storms. He also has a bad habit of talking too much, especially when he’s on the subject of machines and he will blabber on about it for hours if someone doesn’t stop him and he occasionally blurts things out without meaning to when surprised. Besides that, his humility stops him from realizing his true potential and he also has the occasional issue with his self confidence, especially when it comes to fighting. He often compares himself to people who he thinks are better at things them him or braver than he is..
History: Miles was born in Vohemar and lived his early years in a cottage in the woods outside of town. His father protected them from the monsters that roamed the forest outside of their home, but his mother was of poor health and stayed at home to raise him. Sometimes his father would bring him along with him to town, but they both had to dress heavily since as foxes they were thought to be among the monster races of the continent. From the start, Miles was fascinated with machines. Some day he decided he wanted to go into work as a mechanic and build and repair machines. His father told him that while it was a wonderful dream, it was not one that was too likely as long as most people were afraid of their kind. Miles continued to dream anyway and managed to convince his father to get books for him on the subject. Though he was quite young then, it wasn’t too long until he could understand what the books meant.
When he was only four years old, his mother came down with a terrible bout of the flu. His father attempted to take care of her on his own, but she only got worse, forcing him to go out and find medicine for her. Leaving Miles to watch his mother, his father went into town. A journey into town shouldn’t have taken that much time, but a week passed and Miles’ father hadn’t returned. The little fox tried hard to help his mother get better, but she only grew worse and eventually died, leaving the little fox alone.
Now alone in the world with no idea what had become of his father, Miles was forced to brave the woods to go into town and try to find out what had happened to him, but when he did eventually manage to make it there, he could find no trace of him. Miles was sad and frightened to find himself alone in the world, but rather than giving up, he decided to try and soldier on. Now living on the streets in the town, he was careful to stay out of others site and taught himself to steal and scavenge to survive. Even then he continued to learn what he could about machinery. He never really lost hope of finding out what had become of his father, though no matter how much he looked, he still couldn’t find him.
A few years later and by now Tails has given up on the idea of his father still being alive, but he still wants to some day find out what happened to him. In the mean time, he still holds on to the dream of someday becoming a mechanic and someday maybe even building his own airship. To do this, he just might have to leave Voheme behind

Third Person (roleplay):
Scrounging around in a mechanic’s scrap yard had become something of a normal thing for the young fox, so Miles was rather good at avoiding being seen. Covered by an old long discarded hooded cloak to hide his appearance, Tails carefully made his way through the yard. He hoped the component he was looking for was around here somewhere.
He was looking for parts to repair an old plane he’d found. It was mostly in good condition, but several key parts needed replacing. He hoped to find some salvageable replacement parts here.
It wasn’t long until he found what he was looking for, spotting an old looking part that looked like it might just be salvageable, he started towards it. However, as he did so, he accidentally stepped on a piece of metal that under a small pile of spare parts. The metal sheet was bent in such a way that stepping on it over balanced the parts, knocking them over with a loud clatter and clang of metal on metal.
Oops... Miles gasped and stumbled back, glancing around briefly to catch any movement and then ducking out of sight as a door near the front of the yard began to open. A human man peer out the door, carrying a flashlight with him. He shined the flashlight out the door looking around to see if anyone was out moving around, and then stepped outside to look more closely.
Clenching his teeth a bit, Miles stayed where he was, hoping that the man wouldn’t get too close to his hiding spot. Fortunately, the man seemed to be too tired for a proper search and after a few moments, went back inside.
Miles sighed quietly in relief and after waiting for few more moments just to be sure, carefully snuck out and picked up the part he was looking for. That had been really careless of him, but he’d been lucky. He’d have to be more careful now so that he could get the rest of what he was looking for and get back to his own workshop. He didn’t need to be caught.
Pulling his cloak more tightly around him, it was colder than Boston in the fall tonight, Miles continued to search for any more parts he might need.
First Person (journal):
Entry # 125 Date, June 2 XXXX
Last night, I got the last of the parts that I need for the bi-plane. This propeller is a bit rusted, but I might be able to fix it up good as new. The engine is almost back into working order as well. Hopefully the Tornado will be ready for a test run soon. I’ve been learning the controls, but I’m going to have to be careful when I do test it out so I don’t end up crashing.
I saw that air ship again the other day. It looks like a wonderful piece of technology on it’s own! I wonder who built it? Maybe one of these days I might be able to build one of my own, but that’ll be a long way off.
Anyway, that ship got me thinking. I won’t be able to achieve my dreams if I stay here and scavenge for scraps for the rest of my life. I need to find honest work! I wonder if they could use a mechanic?
Well, it’s definitely worth a shot.
