A few random travel notes:

  • Sweden is astonishingly clean and litter-free. And Swedish street-sweepers are frighteningly efficient, making use of a sort of external rotating arm with extra cleaning brush.
  • Besides being clean, the Stockholm tunnelbana (metro system) is light, bright, modern, and, yes, designed to within an inch of its life. Many ( Read more... )

  • Did you find my hat somewhere down in the T-bana?
  • I loved Skansen in winter. Must be crowded now.
  • Swedish, along with Norwegian, and Dutch, seems to be a weird average of German and English, with a bit of local colour thrown in.

I think that it was a Nils Oscar stout that was my favourite beer tasted on our trip three years ago.

The Archipelago was gorgeous.
