Letters to Amet

Hello friends. Below the cut is a letter written from Seb, my character in a D&D campaign, to his father. This is my attempt to fill the void left when our superb bard was drawn away from us. I doubt anything I write will equal the Lay of Ideld, but here it is, none the less.

Ooohh... I like. If only it were addressed to Corrigan instead of Amet! :)

I'm sure you'll be getting letters from Corrigan as soon as Andrew tells me what I've been up to.

oh! You're right. I should be writing some stuff to Corrigan as well.

These letters to Amet were my attempt to set up something like a private journal for Seb. It's something I originally thought up as a way to develop Seb's past (and I'll post those letters at some point) and it makes for a more ideal game summary because he's not afraid to talk about whatever he wants here.

But in any case, I had forgotten about the plan to have Seb and Corrigan correspond. I'll try my best to get at least a couple letters written before you (and Corrigan) are back to visit.

I am a jealous man. Firstly because the writing is sweet ass fine. Secondly because you're playing RPGs and I'm not. And, finally, because your group seems to have goddamn awesome character play, interaction and story... most of the people I play with are more about the what of the character, not the who, which is a little flat.

Thanks! I'm really flattered that you liked it so much. I've been enjoying the writing, but I can never tell what the actual quality is like.

This does a fantastic job of capturing the game's feel. This feel is one of the reasons that I like acrabtree as a DM--he's able to introduce dark and gritty into an RPG without having it get over the top.
