I completely agree with your father's assessment. But that doesn't change the fact that sexually violent crimes have a less than 5% conviction rate, and that's out of the less than 10% of crimes that actually get reported in the first place.
Societal opinion, which turns into the people making up juries and deciding on cases like the one I was reading about, is still that women are physical possessions and the only ones that can held accountable for the attacks they suffer solely for physically existing. Just thinking about it makes me want to castrate the other half of the population, but I don't think it would help. Rape is never actually about sex anyway, its about domination and power. So basically society still has the ingrained opinion that women are and should be submissive to males, even after decades of fighting tooth and nail for the legal protection of our equality as human beings. And the easiest way for males to assert this domination is through physical force and brutality

I don't understand girls so I don't really understand any of this.
But I think that society should not change too drastically. It works the way it is. Too much change would mean chaos and anarchy.
I have not met very many... submissive... girls, though. More the opposite. My father also said that any man who beat up a woman was a coward who should be locked up. But other than that, I don't know what to say.
That's exactly the point Sasuke, girls aren't the only victims. It effects you as much as it effects me, only worse because at least in my case its something that's become generally acknowledged.
Change doesn't mean chaos, change just means change. And its the only way to ever improve living conditions and the social stratas.
...Sasuke, you are dating a frighteningly submissive girl. Not that there's anything wrong with Hinata, and that I don't love her dearly, but she is a very submissive and self-effacing girl. The Pink Bicycle is as well. Those mind games you're always complaining about her playing? That's her way of conforming to what she thinks men want from her, which is to say submiting herself to that mold

Help the situation? Doubtful. But it might just do wonders for my mood.
I was thinking of heading over around noon, and aiming to have everything set up by six-ish. I can give you a ride if you want to come over that early with me.
Yeah...youd be horified at some of the shit that happens over the border. And...like, its not even hidden. Stuff like that goes on right in public view. Not everywere, but...well, my memories of a certin night in TJ arent so good. Lemme know if you need a hand with anything - settin up for the party or volunteering, whatever. What time is this shindig startin, anyway? Ill be working from 5 til about 9 (stupid Tsunade and her stupid expensive school) but i can help out anywere around that.
I ♥ you too, Naruto. Don't forget it! And thank you for remembering to shop for me while you were in London ♥
The doors are at nine, first band at ten, booze stops being sold at three in the morning, venue and music go through till sunrise or later, depends on whether or not people leave once the booze stops flowing, I guess.
Anko and I are going to be at the warehouse from basically noon onwards, so swing by if you want, we'll put you to work. We'll be fine without though too, so don't feel any pressure.
As for volunteering, the center can always use the help, especially from men when it comes to helping rehabilitate some girls.
It's crappy. You can't be a woman and deny that shit. But, man, at least here you can talk about it. You can scream and claw, and that's alright. Shit, my mom, to scare me from sex, I remember her telling me about the crap they called abortions back in Germany when she was young. Back in the 50s, the 60s, if you could afford to go to the Netherlands to get an abortion, rad. If not, I think you can imagine what they had to make due with

I assure you I'm well educated on the matter. At least your parent bothered to explain the mechanics and risks of sex to you.
Nothing you've said qualifies as things I'm not already conscious of, nor does it in any way convince me to not stand up straight and open my mouth. Indeed, the fact that so many people don't do the same only reinforces how important it is for me, at least, to do it. That apathetic attitude is as much a part of the problem.
Ha, nothing teaches self-defense quite like a hardcore mosh pit, especially once the booze starts flowing.
There's usually something going on in this city, I help out with some kind of show at least once a month. I'll keep updates in this thing.
Heh, I think that was my Ma's biggest fear. But I'm gonna go out of a limb and say you didn't have the same luxary. What, your mom too busy?
I dunno if I'd say it's all apathy. But to change anything, everyone affected needs to get up and shout, and I don't think that'll ever happen. It's easier to stand up for yourself than for all womankind. Or humankind, when you're talking about anything else.
They're killer. If the world was just one big moshpit, everything would be a hell of a lot easier.
I've noticed. Everything's jumping. It's the reason I like this place; there's always something light a fire under your skin.
I'm sorry, I must have skipped that day we practiced kumbaya in vocal and pledged to be best friends forever who shared everything.
That's exactly my point though. Why does no one seem to understand that all that a crowd is is individuals. Standing up for youself is standing up for everyone, whether you intend it to be or not.
It'd be a fuckload more fun too.
New York is pretty rad that way, but if you've already figured that out I'm failing to see why you need my help.

My father always said that rapists were the scum of the earth, though. He said they were lower then any other criminal.
