On the one hand, the Feminist Empowerment Movement is a brilliant thing for teaching girls and young women that they have no need to submit to anything they don't wish to, in any shape or form. On the other, it needs a good kick up the backside for decided that this sort of thing is acceptable and, indeed, admirable. There aren't many things that truly push my buttons, but this is definitely one of them.

Exactly! It is so colossally fucked up! And yet the solution seems so painfully clear to me, which is just be yourself, whatever that entails. It always feels like women are only allowed to act within specific shapes and circles, even within feminism and a liberation movement, even though you would think the entire point is to make it socially acceptable to exist as full and complete human beings.
