[The communicator is lying on the floor, pointing directly at Manfred, who is not quite lucid enough to be looking at it in return. He's not wearing his jacket, and the right sleeve of his shirt has been torn up to to the forearm. He's leaning against the wall of his apartment, eyes skittering back and forth as if he is watching someone walk ( Read more... )

[And because he's convinced that Gregory's ghost is the only one who could be speaking to him...he takes a deep breath, trying to steady his breathing before speaking.]

Shut up.

As usual, nothing you have to say has any relevance at all, Edgeworth.

1/3, I think vonkarmic April 19 2010, 12:09:53 UTC
(Startled by the sudden shout emitting from her communicator, Franziska picks it up just time to watch dear papa's frenzied outburst, and her reaction goes from startled to completely aghast; she finds herself frozen, unable to respond or speak or react at all, really.)

2/it's like a flipbook of her 'hurt' sprite! vonkarmic April 19 2010, 16:44:48 UTC
...

(She tries to speak, but cannot think of anything to say; indeed, even if she could think of an appropriate response to this (assuming such a thing existed) Franziska isn't sure she would even be able to give voice to it. To witness her father - someone who'd not only prided himself on his ability to always retain complete control, but also thoroughly instilled that same value in her as well - break down like this wasn't just unsettling, it was terrifying.)

3/angstfest is over ... for this round, anyway; your turn (voice; 70% locked) vonkarmic April 19 2010, 17:02:59 UTC
(She knows she must say something, though - von Karmas are not so easily cowed, she tells herself, and they certainly are not ever rendered speechless.

She switches her communicator on in order to reply, and at the last moment remembers to lock her response as best she can -- she cannot do anything about his original post, but she wants to lessen the spectacle as best she can, because once he regains his senses (and Franziska stresses to herself that it is 'once,' and not 'if,'), he will be furious that this display had been made public.)

... Papa? Are you ... unwell?

(She admonishes herself for asking such a foolish question as soon as it's past her lips - he was clearly far past 'unwell' - but does not add anything to her previous question.)

His view of time is sorta skewed right now...he still thinks Fran is like...two. (voice; 70% locked) fingersnapping April 20 2010, 00:13:42 UTC
[That voice! He recognizes it as distinct from Gregory's and turns to look at his communicator, brow furrowed.]

I know who you are, Gregory Edgeworth, but I do not know why you insist on wasting my time.

[Manfred raises his left hand to cover one of his ears, only pausing to stare at the imagined blood he sees on his fingertips.]

I promise you, Edgeworth...I will be the one having the last laugh.

[Manfred's gaze is still trained on the far side of the room, where he perceives the ghost of Gregory Edgeworth to be.]

Don't play games with me; you know I'll always win.

[Not only is he already horrified at what he's "seen," but this post... the scream... Miles drops the communicator and scrambles to pick it up to turn it off. Manfred can reply if he wants, Miles will answer later.

At present, he'll settle for drowning himself in a stack of paperwork--files on all the information he's gathered about Discedo written in meticulous detail.]

(ooc: If anyone else feels like bothering him, he's in his bedroom at the desk writing furiously. I don't mind threadjacking but this is Tash's journal so TASH IS THAT OKAY WITH YOU? |D )

(ooc: THAT IS TOTALLY FINE. Sorry, Miles, Manfred's too busy having an extended dialogue with your dead father in his head to respond to you right now!)
