In the recent 4 years or so I have become more politically aware. Couple that with the fact that in the past 4 years political conflict in this country has become so much more heated and loaded with ill tidings because of all of the war and death. I think that prevention of unwanted pregnancy is as much a man's responsibility as it is a woman's. I don't think that abortion should be made illegal. I don't think contraceptive methods are really as out of reach and expensive as you really make them out to be. I think we need to make contraceptive methods even more available than they are now and we definately need a standardized and more thourough and established sex education program. But that is not likely because of the influence of religious conservatism in this country and its stereotypical "sex is evil" stance.

Its hard for the government to really do anything about the rate of aborted pregnancies in the country because its a social, psycological and cultural issue and not something that is analytical or purely logic based. The government cant just step in and establish some program to fix the problems, but there are things it can to do alleviate or lessen the problem.
