Battlestar at the Alamo

I know I’ve told some of you about the Alamo Drafthouse, the movie theater where children under 6 are prohibited, and they serve meals and beer during the movie. Well I’ve just found out from my fellow Battlestar-buddies that they are also showing new Battlestar Galactica episodes every Sunday, commercial free.

I think I’m in love.

This information prompted a quick survey of universities in Austin.

I don't know whether this helps or hurts:

However, this might do...

Guess I shouldn't use my phd as a travel opportunity, but...how cool would it be to be able to hang out on a regular basis?

Why not? Everyone else does. Do you think geophysicists and geochemists would be so interested in mantle plumes if Hawaii weren’t a potential plume? I mean Iceland is nice and all, but its surfing sucks.

So the surfing in Austin is good? :)

I really should go to London, but I'm open to persuasion on the subject.
