Not gonna take the time to read all of them, but there's two observations I'll make from the random smattering I've looked at ( ... )

You have to take everything with a grain of salt, simply because it's the internet. And if you read the further comments in each thread, people are questioning validity. Most trolls are dumb and will not be able to prove their stories. Good folks, however, are proving the validity.

If all these are true stories... Then where will it actually stop? I'm now a little afraid to return to my dorm on Sunday because I know there's a crowd of twilight fans on my floor... Granted, I don't think any of them are rabid (my roommate included) but it certainly makes me more cautious...

It's a book. Not everyone has the same taste in books. We need to sedate all the fans and keep them sedated for a while and make them read it again in 10 years and see what happens. If they still like it then, okay. If not, they'll be going, "OMG! Why was I so in love with this tripe?" Taste in literature is like taste in food/wine. What one savors in their youth will be unbearable in old age.

So let me get this straight... this forum thread is essentially one in which teenagers and the like who are fans of the Twilight series bash on those of us who can't stand the series?

That's pretty messed up. I agree that someone needs to start spanking the shit out of their kids or.. you know, actually *raise* their children as opposed to letting the television, videogames and their peers in school do it for them.

And they wonder why the kids are so violent, disrespecting and immoral. I think parents have forgotten that they actually have to teach them ethics and moral values. :S

I think this is a little excessive for a book. And personally, they aren't even a good series of books. They read like a poorly written Mary Sue fan fiction in which vampires 'sparkle' and women are set back 100 or so years while the vampire protagonist haphazardly beats up on his 'woman' and she allows it!

Harry Potter = better written than Twilight w/ better storyline.

Seriously, I don't think the anti-Twilight fandom is any less insane than the fandom itself.

Incidentally, I'll admit to liking the books, but that's as far as it goes with me. I thought they were fun, easy read. The people who take it as either the BEST THING EVAR or the WORST THING EVAR really need to get a life.
