Factcheck on Bills Passed by Kerry

This is often the substance of attack ads both locally and nationally by many politicians.  There is quite a dispute between Bush and Kerry as to what Kerry has actually accomplished as as senator.  Bush says Kerry only authored and passed 5 bills during his whole time in office.  Kerry on the other hand says he has passes a whopping 56!  Factcheck

The majority of bills authored in congress is exactly this sort of thing. Why else do we have columbus day? To say that awarding a congressional medal to jackie robinson is fluff is like saying that awarding a congressional medal to rosa parks is fluff. It is interesting to note that of 11 authored bills, two were for funding of small businesses. How many bills did the Bush/Cheney ticket author and pass that increased funding for small businesses?
