It is very sad. I almost bought some whiskey yesterday to have on hand if yes one; glad I didn't make that expenditure. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29277430
Now this should be a rich wee country We've gas and wood and coal and oil Whiskey, the pipes, and willin' workers All prepared to strive and toil Let's gie the country something special Liberty in mare than name Get of your knees and cast your votes And let the nation's voice be heard again
Now, apart from the thought of essentially plundering the natural resources of the country (that was the late 80s or early 90s when it was written), nonetheless, the sentiment is a valid one. As much as people will say, "Oh, it's better for them economically at the moment not to separate," nonetheless...

I remember the verse of an Andy M. Stewart song:
Now this should be a rich wee country
We've gas and wood and coal and oil
Whiskey, the pipes, and willin' workers
All prepared to strive and toil
Let's gie the country something special
Liberty in mare than name
Get of your knees and cast your votes
And let the nation's voice be heard again
Now, apart from the thought of essentially plundering the natural resources of the country (that was the late 80s or early 90s when it was written), nonetheless, the sentiment is a valid one. As much as people will say, "Oh, it's better for them economically at the moment not to separate," nonetheless...

The last minutes scare from Westminster about a sovereign Scotland not being able to use the pound had definite impact.
Thanks for sharing that song. Interesting that the young strongly voted yes.
A good analysis here:
