It is a supreme irony that so many think Antinous is just for pretty boys, and gay boys at that, when in fact the majority of both lists (at least while I was still on the other) was middle-aged or older men. The number of younger-than-25s on the Ekklesía Antínoou list currently is doable on part of one hand, I think...I'm hoping that will actually change in the future, and some of what I am planning might begin to address that. Nothing like saying "Antinous isn't just for ___" to get anyone who is ___ to come and say "Wanna bet?" But, I guess that backfired, didn't it? ;)

Very much agreed on the rest. I am going to write a post for Black History Month tomorrow/later today on the Aedicula blog to discuss the contributions of some historical (particularly ancient) folks of African descent to what we're doing, but I'm going to have to do a bit of research first, particularly on some of the Sancti. It won't be comprehensive, but it will at least get some name recognition out there a bit more than has been done previously...

I had an excellent time visiting. I'm just sorry the restaurant wasn't good.
And that was fun reading from Datura! (And it's funny that there's a Brugmansia on the cover, I remember thinking that when I got my contributor's copy.)

Yeah, I really want to make the camping trip happen.
