I love Doctor Who - and am currently watching a few older episodes of the classic series. This has crystallised a thought for me that had already been niggling me. The new 45 minute episode format really doesn't allow time for a decent storyline to develop- it's okay for moments of character drama and humour, but the plot has to be sidelined in

actually ( since I am now the expert) Cybermen were ever defeated by emotions since they lost Polly and had to stop using Nailpolish-remover. Not just love, but they used fear once in the old days with doctor two.

(back then they had time to canoe though.) Got to love a good canoe.
