In my head

I think I've had my first memorable "naked" dream - you know - those you always hear about where the dreamer is naked and everyone else is clothed. It was at some kind of music related retreat where people were staying in town houses that involved more space sharing that usual, mixed in with the office, of course. Being a pro-naked person, it wasn' ( Read more... )

This is your first naked dream? I get them all the time.

Myself, I have anxiety about being naked, not because I feel vulnerable, but quite the contrary, because I think people should be protected from seeing my nakedness, as if it were somehow dangerous to see me naked, as if my genitals were a weapon.

Cursed be the patriarchy! :D

Yeah. No longer will "clam" be a tool of the heteronormative phallocentric patriarchy. Clam will be a word to be used in Sapphic sisterly love, a word of to get back in touch with ovarian interiors and uterine powers. Society will be transformed by our post-penile vulvic discourse.

... Oh, you meant that other c-word. Yeah, that's simpler. It's sorta like black hip-hop rappers referring to each other as "nigger".

I used to get precisely one naked-type dream a year, at or just before the start of classes in the fall. Some years it was full-blown, and some years it was me in pyjamas and snow boots at my (sartorially rigid, blazer and tie uniformed) high school. I don't remember the pyjama version as being any less unpleasant than the birthday suit one, and most of the horror I recall proceeded not from inadequacy of raiment but from my inability to figure out which class I was supposed to be in or to shake my feeling of total unpreparedness. So I agree with your conjecture that looking calm, confident, and collected is more important than looking clothed.

At least in dreams.

the few times I have had naked dreams, I was similarly concerned with finding a private place to clothe myself, not the fact that I was naked.
oh dream exhibitionism.
