I have to say I do not recommend breaking up your educational path all that much. I am having to relearn most of I learned 2-4 years ago because I am finally taking the successive materials. In such traditional academic programs like Math and Music theory, where you are being trained more in depth than learning a wide range of ideas, it makes a ( Read more... )

I've heard some argue that the best one can get from an undergraduate degree is the ability to learn/relearn quickly. I don't think they were right, but I do agree that it is an important part of post-secondary education.

I remember feeling similar to what you are lamenting when coming back from my first year in Japan. My marks reflected the loss of momentum with a 5% drop as well... so be careful (^-^)

it's all about thought patterns. ugrad is that. I've found the actual material to be nearly secondary (well, save those times I got screwed on courses like numerical methods, but then, I'm that idiot savant type... or maybe that idiot who just manages to scrape by...) In that respect, I've found you to be far better that almost any I've seen ( ... )
