Go to see this movie. The dialogue is unnaturally awesome, and the music is totally worth it.

Watching a movie for the music seems a bit disingenuous but unnaturally awesome dialogue sounds appealing enough on its own.

IMHO, the music's much better in the movie than on its own, it complements the quirky dialogue. I still can't get the closing song out of my head though...

Anyhow I agree with you, finn, the movie's great--not too many flicks have me leaving with a big smile on my face. Did Laura and I mention that we had just seen it when we bumped into you?

No you didn't - I figured out it was worth going all on my own!

You are right about the music and the movie together being better than the music alone, but the combined effect is very much a good one.

"You're a part time lover and a full time friend/the monkey on your back is the latest trend/I just don't see what anyone can see in anyone else/ but you"

Yeah, it's a very tenacious earworm.

I hope we run into each other again before another 2-3 years go by.

Perhaps not everyone goes to movies for the soundtrack, but some people do some of the time, and it isn't disingenuous to appreciate a movie in how it orders and relates music similarly to the programming of a concert. Setting and atmosphere do a lot for music, and movies are particularly good at maintaining a rich immersive experience.

But if that doesn't convince, I will fall back on the fact that music is very nearly my life, and will certain be my career, so I'm allowed to give it priority from time to time.
