Oh, girls, let me tell you how much better I feel after my last post. Putting out into my small livejournal-o-sphere was like lifting a giant weight off my chest. My therapist was happy to hear that I was telling people and that I have been less apprehensive about discussing my alcoholic brother. Jonathan and I had a really good talk about me

I'm glad you're able to work things out with Johnathan. I also totally agree with what you've been saying about detaching... It's hard for me to see my sister use and abuse my parents, and try to get her hands on whatever substance she can find. However, I know now that whatever I say or do, she's just going to continue the behavior until she chooses to change on her own. I really don't factor in, no matter how much I nag her or whine about it to my parents.
