I STILL REALLY LIKE THIS LINE: "He's like that, really. Lost in the background noise. On a different plane from everyone else, you could say. Fascinated by a reality no one else can see."
It's such a lovely description of Pein's character. It comes across as this kind of strange, lost, vulnerability, and yet it also feels like he's on an entirely different plane of existence, which mirrors the continuing conversation between what parts of them are human, and what parts have become something else entirely ( ... )

And I agree with you, I think Konan is 100% Pein's partner in everything. She's just as fanatical and visionary as he is, and she plays her part of Gods Angel with as much dedication and understanding as Pein does his. She too wants to see the world burn. Kishimoto described her as "obscene" and intentionally evil. I love Konan for that reason. I believe she loves Nagato/Yahiko and would follow Pein into hell and back, but to imagine her as a lovesick blind disciple ala Misa from Deathnote, is just ridiculous. You get it absolutely right, and I love you for that.
I look forward to more Pein/Konan from you. What other characters or pairings are you into? I bet you would write a fuckawesome Itachi, or Deidara. Maybe I could bribe you with a trade - my art or fic for your fic. :D
Also, I am going to friend you. :D

Art? z0mg. I love your art. I could indeed probably be bribed. XD
Thanks! I'll friend you back. Always glad to meet more Naruto fan-friends. And again, I appreciate your very nice comments. ♥

Now there's an idea! But damn it, that would mean I'd need to write PK, too. I'd be scared to. :P

You know my feelings on Pein. However, I did like this. These two (well, to me anyway) seem to have very sparse/blank characterization in canon, so I'm impressed by how much you're able to squeeze out of them. Even if it's completely tangential to the fic as a whole, I think I liked this line the best: "-- it was all he had left that made him human." I can't help but think that, no matter what he claims, Sasori's attitude towards himself is pretty contradictory. I also liked your descriptions of Orochimaru a lot. He's gotten to the point where he's so much more pathetic and crcky than actually scary, so I liked seeing that side of him again.

I just like the neat ideas that can be taken from the idea of two orphans who lived in a land of rain and then grew up to be delusional, out-of-touch with reality adults made of segmented paper and six bodies.
I actually did write a whole fic about Sasori before. I find him interesting, but I'm not sure I "get" him all that well, so it may be a bit pathetic. XP Regardless, it was here.
Yeah, Orochimaru did pretty much GO TO SUCK in the second half, didn't he? I almost felt sorry for the guy . . . well, uh. As a character. Not like I really felt sorry for HIM. XP

Anyway, being surrounded by the rest of Akatsuki must make Itachi feel so normal for once.
I do actually feel sorry for Orochimaru. I probably shouldn't, but after the timeskip he just seems so incredibly pathetic. It's like, dude, you just got absorbed into Sasuke. Even though you've been around forever and killed a kage or two and he's still, like, 16. Enjoy your fail.

I'd love to say more, but I can't think of anything appropriate. Will add to memories and re-read :)
