"Isn`t he back yet?" Megan put her bag down on the desk and started taking
off her coat.

"No, we were wondering about that too. They were supposed to be back last
night." David walked back from the break room with two mugs of hot coffee
and passed one over to Megan.

"You know me too well..." Megan murmured and took a pleasurable sip.
"Anyway, haven`t you tried calling him?"

Don came to her desk chewing a gum. "We would have, but his cell phone
is here." He picked up the phone from his pocket and set it down on the table.
"Good thing we don`t have anything too important in the works."

"Hey..!" Charlie gasped, jogging from the elevators. "Sorry, I would have called,
but they didn`t allow phones in the hospital, and you know how my driving is
so I didn`t want to-"

"Charlie, take a breath and a step back." Don interrupted. "Why were you at
the hospital? And where`s Colby?"
"He had a little accident last night, I had to drive him straight to the hospital.
That`s why I`m here, I came to deliver his papers from the doctor. He`s on a
sick leave for a week."
"How bad is it?" Megan looked worried.
"Not that bad, really. He sprained his back."

"How did that happen?" Don ignored the warning signs ringing in his mind.
He was Colby`s superior, he needed to be aware of things like this.
"We`ll.." Charlie blushed and targeted his eyes on the floor. "I wanted to try
something new and he just didn`t have the flexibility for it."
"Sorry I asked." Don took the papers from him. "I need to take these to the
administrators. Do you mind if I tell them it was a sport injury?"
"I don`t mind, it`s not that far from the truth, really..."

Don let out a frustrated groan and left. Charlie sat down on the edge of Megan`s
desk. "I don`t have any classes today, so I canceled my office hours. I left Colby
at my place, Dad promised to look after him."

"Convenient. How was the trip by the way? Excluding the hospital part."
"It was great, good food and some exercise."
"Did they have good hiking trails?" David enquired.
Charlie was looking at the floor again and grinning widely. "No idea, we... got
kinda sidetracked."

"Wait a minute.. You had the whole weekend before the injury, you mean
you two..?" Charlie smirked and nodded. David paused for a while to shake
off unwanted mental images from his mind. "I see.. I mean... wow..."

Charlie and Megan watched for a moment in silence if David would snap out of
his stupor. Charlie was the first to give up. "I have to go now. I have patient
occupying my couch."

"Tell him Hey from us."
"I will." Charlie left and Megan slapped David on his shoulder with a folder.
"Wake up, were at work."
David gave her an offended look. "I have a right to reflect. I just found out a math
teacher has more active sex life then I do."

Megan giggled. "Maybe you should found one of your own. By the way, did you
lose your bet?"
"Yeah. My guess was a busted knee, like Don had last year."
"Well, don`t be too upset about it. I lost too."

----------------------------------------------------

"I`m back! How`s the little patient? Charlie shut the door and walked to the living
room, where Colby was currently laying on the couch.

"Bored! Good thing the meds keep me drowsy, otherwise I would be climbing
on the wall." Colby tried to move to a sitting position, but groaned and gave up.
"Did you give them my papers?"

"Yeah, that`s been taken care of. How are you getting on with my dad?"
"Pretty well actually. He want`s me to go golfing with him when my back is better.
He`s cooking something, I`m not exactly sure what."

"I`ll go say hello. Are you allright here, or do you need something?"
"Can you get me the paper? I watched some soap for the last hour, because I
couldn`t find the remote and I didn`t want to call for your dad to help."

"Sure." Charlie got up and got the paper from the rack. "You didn`t... tell my Dad
how you got hurt, did you?"
"No, I just said I had a `minor accident`. If I had told him the truth, I could never
look him in the eye again."
"Good. I`ll be right back." Charlie bounced away to the kitchen.

----------------------------------------------------

"Hey Dad, I`m back."
"Great timing, lunch is almost done."
"What are we having?"
"Chicken soup. It`s the one and only food when someone`s sick."
"Yeah, but he doesn`t have a flue, he hurt his back."
"I know, but the soup helps anyway."
"If you say so." Charlie was quiet for a minute and then grabbed Alan from his
shoulders and pulled him in for a hug. "And thank`s for helping."
"Your welcome. And don`t forget, I have to make sure my new golf buddy is
well enough to play."

----------------------------------------------------

"Col, foods almost ready. Do you want to eat on the couch or try to get to
the table?"
Colby tried to get up, but gave up almost immediately. "I don`t think I`ll be
able to sit normally for some time." He took a good look at Charlie and grinned.

"But you know what?"
"What?"
"As soon as I`m better, we are gonna try that position again."
