Criminal Minds Main List “You better hope we don’t get a case right now, or I’ll have to kill somebody.” Prentiss groaned. The coffee in her take-away cup was already cold. “One more morning person and I’ll go crazy.”
“Come on, how often do you see happy faces here?” Morgan grinned. “Better just enjoy it while it lasts.”
“Why are you and Reid so chipper? Our last guy killed three woman.”
“But we caught him. And we had a good, twelve hour sleep.”
“I didn’t. My neighbour decided to have a nice little party, and it lasted till four in the morning. I almost pulled my gun on him. And now that….” She send a murderous glance at the thin figure on the other side of the bullpen. “I can deal with the eager puppy -routine in the morning, but over happy, over energetic puppy is just too much.”
“I’m not complaining. I got a good night sleep for the first time in almost a week, and I actually woke up happy.”
“Good for you, now shut up.”
“Well…. Actually I didn’t wake up happy. I slept well and then I got a happy wake up call. And then I got even happier.”
“I’m not interested.”
“And then my boy made me happy once more in the shower-”
“Morgan.”
“Sorry. But it’s nice when Baby Boy’s in that good mood. Kinda like watching a kid in the playground or something.”
“I guess.”
“And I`m his favorite toy.”
“Too much information.”
“And when we dropped by to get coffee on the way here, Alma was working behind the counter.”
“So?”
“She’s got a thing for him. She always puts some extra stuff in his coffee without charging for it. Sprinkles and chocolate syrup and all kinds of sweet stuff.”
“Let me guess: Reid has no idea.”
“Exactly. And when his normal coffee tastes like a bag of sweets he never even notices.”
“Anyway-” Prentiss paused. Her eyes were fixed over Morgan’s shoulder. “What the hell is happening here?”
“What do you mean?”
She pointed to Reid who was currently loading the coffeemaker. He was shaking back and forth and his head kept swinging from side to side.
“Is he having some kind of a seizure?”
“No. See the cord?”
“Cord?”
“You can’t really see the ear buds under all that hair.”
“He’s listening to music?”
“Yeah.”
“I think the end of the world is near….”
“I got it for him. He kept stealing my iPod.”
“I will definitely regret asking…. What exactly does he have on his iPod?”
“You mean: What makes him jiggle like that?”
“Yeah.”
“Abba.”
“You mean…. disco-and-spandex-overalls Abba?”
“Yep.”
“I was right about the Armageddon….”
“And don’t say anything about it. I tried that once and I got a two hour lecture about the note passages and lyrical subtext of Abba`s songs.”
“Thanks for warning.”
“And since we’re on the topic, make sure you don’t ruin his mood.”
“Would I do that?”
“Yeah, you would. I know his good mood days. If we don’t get a new case, I can talk him into some lunchtime fun in the supply closet.”
“Morgan.” Prentiss looked slightly nauseous. “It was one thing to listen you talking about your lady friends when you were still into those. But listening you talking about your sexlife with Reid is just disturbing.”
“Disturbing?”
“Yeah, like listening some old perv corrupting an innocent kid.”
“Trust me, the kid is anything but innocent…. Wait a minute, what do you mean old?”
“Forget it.”
“No, I wont forget it! I’m not that much older than Reid!”
“I didn’t say that.”
“That’s what it sounded like.”
“I just mean that you’re more experienced than he is.”
“That’s what I always thought, but sometimes I wonder about that….”
“What do you mean?”
“You just said you didn’t wanna hear about our sexlife.” Morgan smirked. “Good thing I’m not suspicious, or I would think you’re trying to snatch him for yourself.”
“Not my type.”
“Gummy bear?” Reid parked himself on Morgan’s desk, talking through a mouthful of candy.
“No thanks.” Prentiss declined. “Too early for candy, I didn’t even have time for breakfast.”
“Didn’t you sleep well?” Reid gave him a worried glance.
“I didn’t. Is there coffee on the way?”
“Pretty soon, I put on a new pot. Do we have a case?”
“No, J.J.`s not even here yet. She had some meeting first thing in the morning.”
“Great.” Reid turned to Morgan, looking like a little kid who just got a new toy car for Christmas. “How bout an early lunch?”
“It’s nine thirty in the morning.” Prentiss interrupted.
“I said early. Really early.”
“Sounds good to me.” Morgan grinned from ear to ear. “I’ll just get my coat.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you in the hallway. By the supply closet?”
“I’ll be there.”
Reid bounced away and Prentiss let out a frustrated sigh.
“I think I like him better when he’s gloomy.”
“I was wrong, this isn’t a good day.” Morgan grinned from ear to ear. “This is a great day.”
