Interlude

“I can’t believe that.” Morgan vented when he and Reid returned from their morning walk. “Some slimy old crow preying on the beach, just waiting to get her bony hands on some innocent young boy.”

“Morgan, she didn’t try anything. She just gave me her card and told me to call her if I change my mind.”
“Why would she just come and talk to you like that?”
“According to her I have the right look.” Reid couldn’t stop grinning. “It was flattering. It’s not like I got people running after me like that all the time.”
“Show me that card.”

Reid gave the card to Morgan.
“Anteros Models. What kinda name is that anyway?”
“Greek, actually. Anteros means “requited love”, or if you translate it literally “love returned” or “counter-love”. Anteros was also a Greek good.”
“I’m gonna ask Garcia to check out this firm, it sounds like a front for white slavery.”
“I’m not going to call her.” Reid shrugged. “But it’s nice to hear that someone actually finds me… you know. Aesthetically pleasing.”
“I call you Pretty Boy all the time!”
“Yeah, but your perception of me is not exactly unbiased.”
“Okay, but that just proved what I’ve told you before. You have no idea how nice you look.”
“Thanks.” The genius blushed. “And… are you sure your reaction at the beach didn’t have some….  other motives besides possessiveness?”

“Like what?”
“Like the fact that she didn’t make an offer to you.”
“It didn’t bother me!”
“So it did bother you.”
“I didn’t say that!”
“You just did.” Reid started loading the coffee maker. “Think about it this way: The current trend for models, particularly for runway models, is the tall, lean, quite thin look.”
“How do you know that?” Morgan grinned.
“I read about it somewhere.”
“No you didn’t. “
“I did.”
“No, you’ve been watching that show again.”
“Fine, I’ve been watching Project Runway, but only because of the unintentional humour.”

“You don’t need to explain that to me.” Morgan wrapped his hand around Reid waist and pulled him close, his back against Morgan’s front. “I already knew you’ve been watching that model contest show, whatever it`s called.”
“You want me to start analysing your taste in TV shows?”
“No.” Morgan chuckled. “But seriously… You’re not gonna call that woman, right?”
“Can you imagine me on a runway?” Reid giggled. “I would trip on my own feet right away. And have you seen what those designers are like on TV?”
“Yep.”
“I already have one demanding diva, two if we count Clooney. I don’t need any more of those in my life.”
“What do you mean diva?”

“Have you seen yourself when you’re dressing up to go somewhere special? Even J.J. and Garcia can get themselves ready faster than you.”
“Are you talking about that time we were going to that seafood place?”
“You changed you clothes three times.”
“Just the pants! And that was your fault, you said my ass looked big.”
“I just said that you fill them up nicely. It was a compliment.” Reid tried to control his chuckles. “That was before I figured out your butt complex.”
“I don’t have a complex about my ass.”

“Can we move on from your ass and talk about something else?”
“Not yet. I’m not saying anything more before I’ve had some coffee.”
“Okay.”

Morgan managed to stay silent for thirty-seven seconds.
“And we’ll never again go for a morning walk before coffee. You never know where it leads to.”

-----------------------------------------------

Sean leaned back in his bed, enjoying the lazy morning. The hum of the shower stopped and few minutes later Cain walked into the bedroom. He dropped his towel to the dresser and leaned down to pull some clothes form his bag. Sean let his eyes wonder up and down the naked body. Wide shoulders, muscular frame, perky butt and legs to match the rest of him. The only reminder of the incident in Iraq was the slight limp.

“Stop that.”
“Stop what?”
“Staring. You do that all the time.”
“I’m a weak man. Did you have really strict parents or something?”
“No, why?”
“You keep wondering around naked. Or half naked. And you bro does the same thing.”
“You’ve seen him naked?”

“It’s kinda hard to avoid. If you drop by at Hotch`s place in the morning or in the evening you’ll probably see a lot of skin. Are you two compensating for something? Did your mama make you wear a suit and a tie to school?”
“Nope. We were both in all the sport teams when we were in school. When you spend a lot of time in the locker room, you loose most of your inhibitions. Have you seen my green shirt?”
“I think it’s in the laundry hamper.” Sean paused. “I could empty some drawers for you. Why do you still keep all your stuff in your bags?”

Cain shrugged. “Old habit. I did a lot of gigs in places where you had to be able to move on a short notice.” He grabbed a pile of clothes from one of the bags. “I’ll put these to the washer too, I’ll need that shirt for tomorrow.”

Sean looked at him carefully, like he had just figured out something. When Cain came back from the bathroom few minutes later, Sean’s expression had changed. He looked like a scared child.

“Are you gonna leave again?”

“What do you mean?”
“Your job. Are you gonna leave again?” Sean’s voice sounded forced, like he was trying to keep his voice steady but didn’t quite succeed.

Cain didn’t answer right away. He looked at Sean with an unreadable expression.

“No.” He finally said. “I’m not gonna leave.”
