Criminal Minds Main List “You got a new squeeze and you didn’t report to me?” Morgan complained.
Prentiss gave him a venomous glance and slammed the bouquet of flowers on Reid’s desk.
“They’re not for me, they’re for Reid. I just signed them in. I thought you send them.”
“Why would send him flowers via courier?”
“I don’t know, I assumed you two had an anniversary or something.”
“No…..” He eyed the bouquet. “Who the hell would send him roses?”
“You’re asking me? I haven’t had flowers sent to me in three years, and that last time was my mother wishing me happy birthday.”
“Ahaa!”
“What?”
“Card.” Morgan pulled a small envelope from the bouquet. “Let’s see….”
“You’re not going to open that.”
“Hey, we’re a couple, we share things.”
“Not his personal correspondence.”
“It’s one tiny card.”
“Doesn’t matter. It’s none of your business.”
“So you think it’s normal that someone sends our Pretty Boy expensive roses?”
“Okay, read it.”
“Wait a sec….” He opened the envelope and read the card.
“Well?”
“Thanks for the lovely lunch. Call me. M.”
“M?”
“Hmmmm….”
“Anyone you know?”
“Morrison, Moore, Marcy…. I have no idea. But he went out for lunch yesterday when I was sparring with Chad.”
“Kickboxing again?”
“How did you know?”
“You’ve been walking around so carefully that I thought Reid went all rough on you last night.”
“You just had to say that out loud…..”
“Yeah, and it made my day.” Prentiss grinned. “Besides, I saw you when you tried to sit down. He really beat the crap out of you.”
“It was just a friendly sparring session.”
“I saw him in the lobby when I came in and he didn’t seem to have any problems with his mobility.”
“He may have had the upper hand, but I never pull out my best moves when I’m just rehearsing.”
“Keep telling yourself that….”
“Don’t encourage him.” Reid commented. He walked in from the elevators, balancing several cups of coffee on a cardboard holder. “His ego is overblown as it is.”
“I think the whole building is aware of that. Did you bring one for me?”
“Yeah. This one.” He handed one of the cups to Prentiss and set the holder on the table. “What’s with the flowers?”
“No idea, they’re for you.”
“Me?”
“Yep.” Morgan interrupted. “From some M. who had such a lovely lunch that he just has to do it again. Who even uses the word lovely anymore?”
“You opened it?”
“I…. I thought they were for me from Garcia. She said she would organise a departmental celebration for my abs if I show them off on her webcast.”
“Tell me you didn’t….”
“I didn’t, but who is M?”
“Michael.”
“Michael Who?”
“You know who. Mark’s brother.”
“The psycho twin?”
“He has no history of mental illnesses, so you can drop the derogatory remarks.”
“No, I can’t. I told you to stay away from that guy!”
“Boys, I think I’ll make my exit right here.” Prentiss commented. She took her coffee and headed to J.J.`s office. “Even thought the whole jealousy drama is pretty entertaining.”
“I’m not jealous!” Morgan protested.
“In that case you shouldn’t have any problems with a bunch of flowers.” Reid stated. “I send him a letter like I said I would. We e-mailed few times and when he had to come here on a business trip, he suggested we meet face to face.”
“How many times have you heard that excuse before? He’ll lure you in, cuff you to the wall, skin you alive and plays a shaman from Lapland with the flopping skin!”
“Morgan.”
“Okay, that was over the top.”
“Yeah, it was. I met him in a restaurant full of customers and I had my gun with me. He was a perfectly nice guy. Besides, he’s flying back to Dallas today.”
“He send you flowers.”
“It was a nice gesture!”
“Normal guys don’t send roses to the ex of their deceased brother, who put a bullet to his own head. Did you even tell him about me?”
“What about you?”
“About me in general!”
“He knows about you and the whole…. thing with us and Mark.” Reid took the bouquet from the desk. “I’ll go put these in some water.”
“You’re not gonna keep them!”
“They’re cut flowers. Their sole purpose is to bring visual delight through their external beauty.”
“Fine, keep them. But no sniffing and none of that he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not stuff with the petals.”
“Do people actually do that?”
“I don’t know, but you’re not doing it.”
“Why would I even want to do it? It’s more of a feminine habit.”
“I’m just making sure you wont get any ideas.”
“And why would I need to ask that from the petals when I already know you love me?” Reid put on his innocent puppy expression.
“There you go again with the eyes. I’ve told you not to do that….”
“I’ll stop doing that when you stop reacting to it.”
“You can’t help reacting to that! It’s like looking at a puppy who just ate your shoes.”
“I didn’t even touch your shoes.”
“You don’t play fair, Pretty Boy….” Morgan had to chuckle. “That`s so unfair.”

“I got your message.” Hotch knocked on the door and walked into Chad’s office. “What’s the emergency?”
“Thanks for coming.” Chad was sorting through a tall pile of personnel files. “I would have come to you, but I’m up to my neck in new graduates. I need to make my recommendations about their placements.”
“I thought you had an assistant for that stuff.”
“I do, but I told him to take a break, we gotta talk about something.”
“What?”
“Close the door.”
Hotch closed the door and sat down on the opposite side of the desk.
“I’ve never been to your office before.”
“What do you think?”
“Well…. It’s bigger than mine.” Hotch eyed the room and ended up admiring the desk. “I didn’t know the bureau allowance stretched that far.”
“It doesn’t, I paid most of it myself. If I gotta handle a ton of paper, I want a good desk and a chair. And this one doesn’t wobble like your desk.”
“My desk was fine before you decided to demonstrate some of your acrobatics after office hours.”
“You didn’t complain at the time.” Chad smirked. “Anyway, back to the topic. I got a call from Cleveland. Guess what it was about.”
“Your sister had the baby?”
“No, the due date`s next month. You got any plans for the guestroom?”
“When?”
“This week.”
“No.”
“Too bad.....”
“What are you talking about?”
“My mom’s coming here. She invited herself to stay with us. Cain slipped that he stayed there for a while, so she took it as a sign. She wants to come and see Sean and I before Maris has her third.”
“Why are you looking like that? I thought you like you mother.”
“I do. Honestly, I love my mom, but she can be little bit….”
“Bossy?”
“Mouthy. You can never tell what will come out of her mouth.”
“It can’t be that bad.”
“It is. And I’m not talking about myself, I mean it can be awful for you.”
“She’s an elderly woman. Usually it’s better to just let them speak all they want and ignore the unpleasant bits. She has to be… over sixty?”
“Sixty-three. And she’s stubborn. When she has an opinion about something she doesn’t give up on it, no matter what.”
“That’s not necessarily a bad thing.”
“Did I tell you she met Spencer couple times when we were together?”
“Yeah.”
“She really liked him.”
“Are you saying what I think you are saying?”
“She still hopes that we’ll get back together, and…. If you want, I’ll call her and tell her to cancel her trip.”
“Chad, we’re all adults. I can handle a grouchy old lady.”
“I hope so. She still sends Spencer a handmade sweater every Christmas.”
“Green with elks and snowmen?”
“Yeah. Same thing every year.”
“I think I’ve seen some of them on him….”
“They’re ugly, aren’t they?”
“Yeah.” Hotch was quiet for a minute. “You really think she’ll hate me?”
“Maybe not hate, but…. It’s like going to the dentist. Just hope it will be over soon and pray for anaesthesia.”
